People like to ask philosophy students “So what’s the meaning of life?” and “So what are you gonna do with that?” as if both questions are (a) uniquely pressing for philosophy students, and (b) impossible for them to answer. I contend these are questions that confront us all, sooner or later, and that the student of philosophy is actually best positioned to deal with them.
