Blount alum, Hashu Watson, will discuss her current career of community organizing.

Edward Tang will introduce the origins and history of an interdisciplinary field, and how scholars have examined different aspects of American culture. It will draw on examples from such disciplines as architecture, music, geography, and literature.

We will watch a performance of "Revelations" by Alvin Ailey as well as a short interview with him.

There is no convocation due to spring break - have fun.

Jennifer Caputo will introduce Blount students to music and culture from selected ethnic groups in southern Ghana, and students will learn a few basic rhythmic patterns and songs. We will discuss the value of oral tradition in Ghanaian society.
