The academic linchpin of the Blount Scholars Program is a minor in “Liberal Arts”.  Minors, however, are disciplinary designations defined, broadly, by their objects of knowledge and methods.  So defined, the liberal arts is not a discipline.  This talk will examine in what sense Blount is a liberal arts program and what, more particularly, its objects of knowledge and methods are.
