Convocation – Social justice in the 17th century: discovering, analyzing, and publishing on historical crimes

Many of the social, judicial, and political regulations in our 21st century western society had their building blocks established in the 14th century, with subsequent centuries bringing progressive refinements over time. How did authorities historically deal with breaking these rules through criminal behavior?
