Convocation – “The Life History of a Galápagos Seabird: Insights from a 30-year Study of Nazca Boobies”
February 21, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Nazca boobies can live for decades, but only if they survive an early fight to the death among nest mates (siblicide) and a perilous juvenile period. In this talk, Dr. Emily Tompkins describes a series of experiments and observations that have developed our understanding of siblicide, juvenile survival, the mating system, and senescence in this population.
