Blount orientation—not to be confused with Bama Bound (UA’s general orientation) or Blount Bound (evening tea party to recover from the tedium of Bama Bound)—is organized and run by Blount students.  It is elegantly minimalist in design and riotous good fun in execution.  Best of all, it will actually orient you.  Not simply with respect to college but
The Blount Hunt will consist of a campus-wide scavenger hunt in which the residents team up with their floor and solve riddles to find common campus buildings and landmarks. There will be an ice cream social in the lobby when they return from the scavenger hunt.
Both the director, Fred Whiting, and the assistant direction, Deborah Keene will give an introduction to the curriculum and the overall nature of the program.
Come and meet Officer Sumner and Officer Spencer. They will be there to help engrave and register personal items in case of theft and also talk about resources they can offer the residents. They are hosted by RA Michael Murphy. Cinnamon rolls provided.
Come and meet Deborah Keene, assistant director of the Blount Scholars Program and coordinator of the first-year curriculum. Feel free to ask questions about the program, the curriculum, individual readings, or anything else. Coffee and donut holes provided. Hosted by RA Parker Renton.
